Jennifer Parker
Success Story
Forty-three-year-old Jennifer Parker has lived in Kaufman, Texas, all her life. When not working at an Amazon warehouse, she enjoys spending time with her two children and three grandchildren.
Jennifer knew something was wrong with her left foot and sought help from three doctors before being referred to the emergency room by a vein doctor. In the ER, Jennifer saw a podiatric surgeon who is a specialist in bone and soft tissue pathology of the foot. The surgeon diagnosed her with a severe Carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE) infection. CRE is a type of bacteria that can cause serious infections that can be difficult to treat because it is resistant to an advanced class of antibiotics. After initial treatment at an acute care hospital, she then was referred to Mesquite Specialty Hospital (MSH).
During Jennifer’s 26 days at MSH, she focused on regaining the ability to walk and becoming self-sufficient again. “The patient care technician is especially kind, and I appreciate the clean and welcoming environment of the hospital,” she says. “However, I look forward to returning home to my routine and spending time with loved ones. I’m eager to get back to work as soon as possible as well.”
